Crackmoor
Farm is a traditional rural dairy farm of over 214 acres which became fully
organic in December 2007 and is run by Jenny and Greg Kellaway. It
nestles peacefully in a quiet valley, located on the
Somerset and Dorset border in-between Sherborne and Milborne Port, surrounded by pasture and arable land as
well as some of the finest wooded countryside in England. This fertile
environment is an ideal location for both dairy and beef herds to thrive!
Our
farm dog is Pip who is always found running around waiting for her ball to
be thrown, we do hope by visiting Crackmoor Farm this will be an enjoyable
experience which you may wish to come again
We aim to develop Crackmoor Farm as
being as self sufficient as possible. We grow feed in the form
of grass, cereals and root crops which we feed to our animals.
The manure from the animals is then spread on the land
increasing its fertility, improving its structure, and thus
benefiting the subsequent crops. We also aim to ...
- encourage a better understanding of food and farming
- foster a
greater appreciation of the countryside
- demonstrate that farming and conservation can work in harmony
- provide training
opportunities in farming and other rural activities
